Welcome back to some normality. On Sunday 24th April The Freemen of Oxford are invited to borrow a gown from The Town Hall cupboard for the procession to St Michaels at the Northgate behind the Mace at 10:10 am.
The Reverend Buckley will be conducting the Service for St George’s Day. The Freemen traditionally have worn an optional Red Rose. Our Chairman and the Lord Mayor will each read a lesson. Brief refreshments will be served in the church at the conclusion. There will not be a procession return to the Town Hall due to the shopping crowds in Cornmarket.
Please make sure all gowns are returned to the Town Hall and listen out for announcements of gowns being collected.
At the time of writing this item, we are planning an optional pre-booked Sunday Lunch at the Chequers on the High Street and close to Carfax.
The historic public house is down an alley which is directly opposite the Covered Market. We believe The Chequers offers excellent value for money. Please return the booking form as soon as possible. The upper floor restaurant will be for our exclusive use.
