I was honoured to be invited at very short notice by the Council to the hastily organised civic reception for the team at the Town Hall, on Monday 20th May. The Yellows had just won the League One play-off cup final at Wembley that Saturday, with consequent promotion to the EFL.
Several thousand fans lined the parade route from The Plain to the Town Hall. It was very atmospheric. The team were clearly very impressed by the fans turnout and celebration of their success, and it was a privilege to meet some of the team informally at the reception. What great role models they were. Well done OUFC!
