The committee will be discussing at it’s November meeting ideas for raising our profile, which may include some activities that may be of interest to Freemen, but also to the wider public.
It is important that we keep taking opportunities to raise our profile as Oxford’s oldest organisation, not only at civic events, but to explain who we are, our place in Oxford’s history, and what is important to us. Some suggestions have come forward for possible competitions such as photography (maybe even leading to a calendar), painting, short story or poem featuring Port Meadow or Oxford. Organising or sponsoring a day of local themed history talks with local historians/authors (and perhaps your Chair!) might be of interest.
If anyone has any thoughts or observations around raising our profile, please let our Chair know. Contact details can be found inside the cover.
