Commons Act 2006 Section 38 Port Meadow Common

The WW1 Memorial Group has applied to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for consent under section 38 of the Commons Act 2006 to carry out restricted works on Port Meadow Common. The Planning Inspectorate will decide the application on behalf of the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
The proposed works are the erection of a stone memorial to 17 airmen who died on or near Port Meadow Aerodrome during World War 1; the erection of 3 information boards; the removal of 2 concrete bases. The works will be located at the Picnic Area at the Northern end of Port Meadow.
A copy of the application form and accompanying documents can be inspected at Oxford City Council Planning Department, St Aldates Chambers, Oxford OX1 1DS during normal office hours until 23 April 2017.
